IMG_1924I had been wanting to check out the new WeWork space for some time now. My company had space in a WeWork building in New York and we currently hold space in Washington, DC. All the spaces have similar threads but have their own distinct personalities.

IMG_1925You walk into the space and you are greeted by a large open kitchen and communal table. People often come down for lunch to meet fellow WeWorkers and WeWork often hosts after work events in this space as well.

IMG_1927WeWork offers great amenities. Coffee, purified water, and beer on tap. Additional amenities include: Hi-speed internet and wifi, conference rooms, private phone booths, weekly events and outdoor bike storage.

IMG_1932There are many different options for companies looking to rent space at WeWork. This is WeWork labs, a place where you can rent a desk – currently the labs area has been relocated upstairs as a whole company has taken over this area.

IMG_1937The offices are all glass, giving the space a really open feeling, and the higher you go, the better the views.

IMG_1938Offices can run from 1 person in size to 11 people. I love that the offices have carpet in them – our space in New York did not, and we brought in area rugs to absorb the sound.

IMG_1940For added privacy, there are three private phone booths on every floor, first come, first served.

They have these cute little “on air” boxes above them!

IMG_1944Each floor is decorated differently – bright artwork on the walls and little decorative embellishments here and there make the office feel like….less of an office. Check out WeWork’s summer camp – it looks awesome!!

How cool are the conference rooms? I love the dark wood against the playful wallpaper.

IMG_1946I head downstairs to see the basement – another area where WeWork hosts events and where my networking event is being held tonight. They have old school video games, ping pong, foosball, big screen tv’s, a great bar area and enormous couches for lounging. It’s amazing that people get any work done around here!

IMG_1947A friend of mine had some space here while his office was being renovated and said that they had some pretty crazy ping pong tournaments down here!

IMG_1948This would be a great place to hang out after work.

So, on to the networking event…from the Good Ones invite:

Time is scarce and relationships are invaluable.

TODAY, for one powerful hour – we are hosting a hand-selected group of Boston-based women who are founders, executives, journalists, entertainers, students, creatives, and mentors. Each woman shares an interest in learning and contributing to their community’s success.

Relationships will be formed. Stimulating dialogue will be had. Memories will be made.

IMG_1967All the events have great sponsors. Tom Olcott stopped in, co-founder of Motto , my favorite sparkling matcha tea. Take my word for it that this stuff is amazing, you’ll be hooked after the first sip!

IMG_1960Hint water was also present, featuring the new fizz line and some great new traditional flavors. The hint water flavors were green apple, peach and blood orange and the fizz flavors were peach, strawberry kiwi and blackberry. Hint water is great, it has no sugar, no artificial sweeteners and no preservatives – with a hint of flavor.

IMG_1952Deep Eddy vodka was also in attendance, sampling skinny cocktails with their grapefruit, cranberry and sweet tea flavors.

IMG_1951Luna bar was a new sponsor at the event, sampling their chocolate chip cookie dough protein bars.

IMG_1950And my favorite, Taza chocolate, in salt and pepper, cinnamon and orange.

IMG_1953Katie Ginsberg from Cocomama was at the party, sampling the all natural, gluten free cereal. You can eat the quinoa right out of the bag or you can heat it up like oatmeal. They also have “crunched out”, a line of snackable clusters that come in vanilla cinnamon and fudgy chocolate. Check out their kickstarter campaign.

While it’s fun to hear about the sponsors, who was at the event? Amazing women – all interested in meeting new people. It was refreshing to go to an all female “networking” event. But this wasn’t your typical networking event, there were no name tags and there was no pressure. It was more about the conversations and less about the business cards. It was great to hear about what these smart and talented women do – everyone had a different story to tell. Missed this event? There are two more events coming up, one on June 9th and one on June 16th. Contact Carolyn of the Good Ones to be invited to the event – hope to see you there!
