110 Grill is the newest restaurant to open in Wayland, giving the town a much needed addition option for dinner on the south side of town. We arrive early and the place is starting to get crowded with families with young children. The kids menu is pretty good – for $7 you get your choice of grilled or fried chicken tenders, pasta with butter or mac and cheese, a cheese quesadilla, a burger, fried cod or a grilled cheese. It comes with your choice of carrots and celery, cucumbers, or seasonal vegetables. As a side, you can choose from French fries, white rice or sweet potato fries. For dessert, choose from sliced apples, a bowl of berries or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. While yes, pasta with a side of French fries might not be traditional, my son loved it.

110 Grill offers a good selection on their menu, with appetizers like: tempura shrimp, crispy fried pickle chips, a spinach dip bread bowl or poutine. Entrees include items like: cuban swordfish, shrimp scampi, steak tips, chicken pesto pasta, a pulled pork sandwich and a vegetarian stir fry. Above was the short rib special one night which was a bit on the pricey side, but tasty.

The jambalaya is no longer on the menu, as it rotates, but it was also quite tasty. Appetizers range from $7-$15 and entrees start at $12 for a sandwich and can go up for about $30 for a steak.

For dessert we tried the Oreo brownie sundae ($7) that was a warmed brownie topped with vanilla bean ice cream and housemade hot fudge. It was finished off with some whipped cream and crushed Oreos. Pretty good if I do say so.

110 Grill has locations in Berlin, Chelmsford, Hopkington, Leominster, Nashua (NH), Rochester (NH) and Wayland. They are expanding to Braintree, Haverhill, Marlboro, Fall River, Stratham (NH), Worcester and Wrentham in 2017/2018.

Sign up for their loyalty program: for ever $110 you spend on food and non alcoholic drinks you receive a $10 reward (every $1 spent = 1 point). Stop in on Mondays and earn double points.

Following up on yesterday’s Toasts and Bowls post, I wanted to elaborate on our lunch at Island Creek Oyster Bar. We went to the Burlington location for lunch: equally glamorous as the city location but less crowded. Yay, one vote for suburbia!

How beautiful is this mahi-mahi mahi-mahi crudo? ($12) The dish was light, clean and super fresh, served with nuoc cham, cilantro and grapefruit, a perfect summer dish.

Not in the mood for seafood? We tried the ICOB Rigatoni ($13) served with oyster mushrooms, Pecorino and English peas. Equally delicious as their seafood.

Another non seafood item is the Colorado angus burger ($15) served with house cured maple bacon and Cabot cheddar and topped with picked onion and horseradish mayonnaise. The fries were delicious along with the pickled side salad, which was a refreshing change of pace.

Here’s one most look at that lobster toast – with a perfect fried egg on top. If you’re looking to save a few dollars, head over to ICOB for lunch instead of dinner. The prices are more reasonable and the food is just as tasty! In fact, that’s a good rule of thumb for most restaurants.

I’m always on the hunt for a new breakfast place. We recently came upon Stephen Anthony’s – in business for the last 30 years, and at its current location since 1998. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Inside, it is definitely dated. It has an old time feel to it. Breakfasts are simple and the portions are generous. Belgium waffles, French toast, omelettes, and other egg dishes fill the menu. Love pancakes? Get 3 for $7.25, or try blueberry, maybe even chocolate chip. They have banana cakes and Johnny cakes, and silver dollar pancakes by the half dozen or bakers dozen if you can handle it. Prices range from about $5 to $10, depending on how hungry you are. The place fills up like crazy on the weekends, make sure to get there early if you don’t want to wait. Maybe stop into AJ Cakes next door for a little pre-breakfast 😉

The dinner menu features steak and seafood: broiled haddock, seafood medley, seafood fra diavlo, filet mignon, marinated sirloin tips and prime rib to name a few dishes.

Join them for Waffle Wednesdays where they serve full breakfast until 9pm and have waffle specials.

They have a private function hall for weddings, showers and/or business events.

There’s nothing fancy about this place, but if you’re looking for a stick to your ribs kind of breakfast, Stephen Anthony’s is your spot. Simple food, inexpensive prices. Service was good, we were helped by a young kid who was trying not to get overwhelmed by being in the weeds.

Bonefish 1

Bonefish Grill recently opened in Waltham. I grew up nearby and remember when this area had nothing but the Westin Hotel and the Bertucci’s. Now there’s a Starbucks, a Market Basket, even a Marshall’s nearby! Great to have Bonefish here for some variety in dining options!

Bonefish 3

I had visited the Bonefish recently in Westwood, check out my review here.

Bonefish 4

The spacious bar area has high top tables and the main dining room has both free standing tables and booths.

Bonefish 5

I love the wall art that is made up of tiny mirrors.

Bonefish 2

Bonefish offers two private dining areas that can be combined into one large room. The large windows allow a ton of natural light which was really nice. The rooms come fully equipped with an audio/video set up, perfect for a casual business meeting or a “when you were young” slideshow at a baby shower.

bonefish 16

We started the evening with a 2014 Masianco Pinot Grigio and Verduzzo that would pair well with the first three courses. The wine is Masi’s white “supervenitian” that has notes of tropical fruits and honey with a dry finish and a citrus twist.

Bonefish 6

We started with the blacked Baja fish tacos topped with cabbage, Pico de gallo and lime crema.

Bonefish 7

Next up, the signature Bang Bang shrimp – crispy breaded shrimp tossed in a creamy, spicy (just a little kick) sauce. Did you know that they sell more Bang Bang shrimp than all other menu items put together!!

Bonefish 8

The cilantro lime shrimp salad came beautifully displayed.

bonefish 10

When they pulled off the glass cylinder, the shrimp fell into place perfectly. The salad had roasted corn, black beans, Feta cheese, grape tomatoes, red onion and a cilantro lime vinaigrette.

bonefish 9

The lobster flatbread was a favorite among guests – topped with cold water lobster, mozzarella cheese, red peppers and a lobster infused sour cream.

bonefish 11

By the time we go to the main course I was stuffed! The surf and turf was presented on one plate, but I wanted to give each piece it’s own spotlight.  The Ahi tuna was served Pan Asian style.

bonefish 12

The Chilean sea bass was served with a mango salsa.

bonefish 13

The filet mignon speaks for itself – check out those beautiful grill marks! One thing that I didn’t know about Bonefish is that they really go out of their way to accommodate food allergies – they have a special place on the grill reserved for making gluten free items.

bonefish 14

For dessert we had the seasonal pumpkin creme brûlée, spiced up with cinnamon and nutmeg and topped with a healthy dollop of whipped cream!

bonefish 15

You may also want to check out their drink menu, check out this beautiful espresso martini they served!

Disclaimer: I was invited to Bonefish Grill for a media preview dinner. My meal was provided compliments of Bonefish Grill. All opinions are my own.
