Shan-a-Punjab is located on Harvard Street in a former gas station. The last time I was here, it was B.Good. I never made it to Cognac Bistro, even though I really meant to get there. Indian music videos play on the tv behind the bar. We start off with some delicious flatbread crisps that have […]

It has been a long winter, and we have been waiting a long time for the Brookline Spa to complete its renovation. The old space was run down, but it had a certain charm to it. The inside now has a whole new updated look. Check out their menu here. They are now open at […]

El Centro is located in Brookline Village, near the Edible Arrangements store. The space is small, but a large mural and bright colors help open up the space. It’s fairly quiet on a weekday night, with about 3 other tables sat, but they were doing quite a bit of take out. I’m a glutton for […]

Owner Nur Kılıc has over 40 signature chocolates and truffles, all handmade in traditional Viennese style. While sampling […]

Met a fabulous friend for drinks and tapas at Barcelona. We were planning on sitting outside on the patio, but it is getting dark so early these days. We grab a seat at the bar. There’s an interesting crowd here – two ladies who look like they may be trying a little too hard to […]

Some places I post right away, and for some reason, some just sit in my draft box for ages. To give you an idea of how long this has been sitting in my draft box, we went here PRE expansion. It only took me 10 years of living in Brookline to go here, why should […]

16 Handles recently opened in Coolidge Corner. We stopped by one afternoon after shopping at Trader Joe’s. TJ’s on the weekend is like the 7th circle of hell, no joke: it’s crowded, people are leaving carts in the middle of the aisle and walking away, people are bumping into you, people are oblivious that there […]

Otto Pizza recently moved into Coolidge Corner in the former space of Friendly’s Express. Otto comes by way of Portland Maine.  We had walked by one night when it first opened and it was mobbed! We were calling for take out and no one answered the phone. So one Saturday afternoon, at 3 in the […]
