IMG_0603We headed over last weekend on Sunday afternoon for some bowling and snacks.

IMG_0545Kings is 24,000 sq ft entertainment complex featuring over a dozen lanes of bowling, three bars and a full service restaurant. When you walk in the door you can see all the famous celebrities that have been here.

IMG_0544Autographed pins line the walls behind the counter.

IMG_0566You can have your next event at Kings – they have a number of packages available. There was a private party renting out the space later on and they were busy setting up for it.

IMG_0546Shoes can be rented for $4. When I was a kid, my grandparents used to take us kids bowling. I have great memories of being at Fairway bowling in Framingham (that has since closed and been torn down). Needless to say, that was candle pin…big ball bowling is a whole different ball game. I might be the world’s worst bowler…I think I scored in the 80’s…there may or may not have been some foul language on my part! Somehow my buddies that I went with are secretly amazing bowlers…how did I not know this?

*Prices are per person per game*

IMG_0587We ate dinner on the lane and then moved to the high top tables after two strings. I was actually really pleasantly surprised by the food at Kings. We started with the fried mac and cheese bites with marinara sauce ($7 for 6). The bites were a good, just enough cheese and breading, and they held together nicely.

IMG_0588The guacamole and mango salsa ($9). The guacamole was fresh and creamy and the mango salsa added just the right amount of sweetness that you craved with the salty tortilla chips.

IMG_0593The southwestern spring rolls ($8 for 4) came with roasted chicken, corn, black beans, peppers onions and cheese – served with a creamy avocado sauce. Lovely presentation.

IMG_0594For our main courses I had the single patty 4oz burger ($6.75) that came with swiss cheese, sauteed mushrooms, and crispy onion strings (hold the horseradish mayo please!). The burger was a cute little slider, but managed to fill you up. The fries were quote good as well, really nice and crispy.

IMG_0596Kings’ famous steak tips with mashed potatoes and green beans ($16) were cooked perfectly medium with a cool pink center. There was such a generous helping of mashed potatoes that we couldn’t finish them all.

IMG_0597We also tried the Bourbon BBQ burger ($6.50) that came with bacon, lettuce, tomato, and caramelized onions.

We had a great afternoon – the bowling was fun (even though I am a terrible bowler), the food was delicious, and the service was outstanding. From the minute we walked in, everyone said hello to us and had a warm smile and our waitress was checking in on us frequently, making sure that we had everything that we needed.

*Disclaimer: Kings picked up the tab for my bowling and food, but all opinions are my own.
