October 31, 2013 Hilton Downtown
We recently moved our office from the Back Bay to Faneuil Hall. We packed up over the weekend on Saturday and Sunday. We worked from 10am on Monday to 3am on Tuesday and then headed back into the office at 7am Tuesday morning. We grabbed rooms at the Hilton on Broad Street to catch a few hours of sleep and a shower.
The hotel is very corporate. We are Gold members, so they upgraded us to suites (too bad we weren’t in the rooms long enough to enjoy it). Check in was speedy, although the valet seemed to be a bit overwhelmed, acting also as the concierge when we were checking in.
The hallways are filled with Boston art.
My room was at the end of the hallway, far away from the elevator.
I kid you not, the room was enormous. There was a large sitting area and kitchenette..
The couch looked a little tired and had a few stains on it, but as I said, I wasn’t in the room long enough for any of that to make a difference.
There was a large flat screen TV in the sitting area.
The bedroom was spacious – the bed was super soft and comfortable.
Double curtains on the windows were heavenly – with only a few hours to sleep it was good that it was pitch black in the room.
Another large screen tv in the bedroom.
The bathroom was large and it had good water pressure – after a long day of moving, a hot shower was just what the doctor ordered. The price was expensive (around $300 a night with the AAA rate), but many of the hotels in the area were well into the $400’s before tax.
