December 4, 2013 80 Thoreau
This is another one of those posts that slipped through the cracks. We went to 80 Thoreau almost a year ago, but I never posted about it. So here is it! Locaed on the second floor on an old train depot in Concord, 80 Thoreau brings fine dining to the suburbs. The maitre d’ is friendly, seeing as he’s the owner as well! The space has a cool yet classy vibe to it. This is a place where you can sit at the bar and have a drink, come for a bite to eat with your girlfriends or have a romantic dinner all in the same location
. Is it bad to start with a carb app and then have a carb entree? My friend and I decided to go for it! We both had the same thing. Seared Gnocchi ($12) with vidalia, prosciutto. The gnocchi was quite good, I love the prosciutto, it was a nice salty addition. I just wish that I could eat bowl upon bowl of this it was so good.
Lobster tagliatelle ($23). The pasta was perfectly al dente and the lobster was sweet. A really nice meal over all, not too heavy, all the ingredients were fresh and the dish was so colorful.
Dessert was a miss for me, even though I ordered it, the floral notes were just not my cup of tea.
And a little something sweet that came with our check!
