A Little Bit About a Lot of Things

A lifestyle blog with a focus on my food adventures

IMG_0662Located in the Quincy Market food hall, West End Strollers features Middle Eastern food.

IMG_0665My coworker introduced me to “fingers” a delicious Middle Eastern pastry. At $2.90 per piece, they are pretty pricey, but they are pretty labor intensive to make. Fingers, or Asabi as they are also called, are made from thin phyllo like dough and rolled with cashews and raw pine nuts. They are light and less sweet than baklava.

I also pick up half a dozen pierces of baklava, another delicious dessert made of thin layers of phyllo dough, separated by butter and filled with nuts and honey. The baklava from here is far less sweet than other places I have tried, but we enjoyed every bite!

IMG_0667We spent the rest of the afternoon walking around Faneuil Hall and the Greenway. Just a few fun posts from the walk – above: one of the horses waiting to give rides to the tourists.

IMG_0659Have you seen these pianos around the city – I love this installation. Check out their website to get more information if you missed the exhibit.
