October 1, 2013 Sweet Green
Sweet Green opened on Boylston Street just across the street from the BPL. The line at lunchtime is out the door – but it moves steadily. They have salads on the menu but they also allow you to make your own salad. Pick your greens, pick your toppings, choose how much dressing you want, and you’re set.
The Santorini – chopped romaine with citrus shrimp, feta, red grapes and chickpeas; topped with a cucumber basil yogurt dressing and a fresh lemon squeeze. Really nice flavoring, love the citrus shrimp and the red grapes. The salads run you $6-$13, but they are enormous. I like the salads so much that one day I went for lunch AND dinner!
The District Cobb – shredded kale + chopped romaine with roasted chicken, goat cheese, hard boiled egg, bacon, raw corn, avocado and grape tomatoes; topped with an agave dijon vinaigrette. I get mine with balsamic instead of dijon – this is by far my favorite salad.
Wednesdays are usually my day for salads, with a stop at Mother Juice, a juice truck across the street, for the perfect lunch.
