December 18, 2011 M&M Ribs
There’s no question that food trucks are the ‘it’ thing right now. I had been hearing about this rib truck that makes amazing ribs…so we decided to hunt down M&M ribs one night-and I do mean hunt-they are tucked away in what looks like an abandoned parking lot….needless to say we drove around in a circle once or twice.
Don’t worry, they have other options if you don’t like ribs-but I always say to try whatever dish the place is “known for”. So we pull up and there are dudes grilling out back behind the truck, the music is bumpin’, and the ladies working inside the truck are sassy-and funny, totally sweet.
There are three of us, and with all the food we buy, I swear it looks like we are throwing a block party. Here are the ribs-I’m salivating just looking at the picture again. They are enormous, smothered in sweet bbq sauce….oh yeah.
Just for fun, I threw them on the scale…
They have some good sides-shown above is the potato salad….
Mac and cheese that tastes like your mom made it….well not my mom…but if your mom cooked…well you get the point.
Bummed out cause even though the ladies were wearing hair nets….the peach cobbler has a hair in it (just at the edge where the cobbler meets the cup). Was really looking forward to that 🙁
The service was excellent-loved hanging out with the ladies while waiting for our food. They take credit cards, which for me is a bonus because I rarely carry cash (even if I did, it wouldn’t have covered this meal!) We brought the food home and we dug in. Ribs-delicious. The meat was tender and juicy, the sauce was sweet and smokey (ok that was probably the meat not the sauce). Finger licking good-and it put all of us into a food coma (and that’s a good thing!). Go back? Abosolutely. Or you can sometimes catch them at the SOWA market….
