January 25, 2011 Basho
We had been to Basho once before (see post), but this time we came back to use our groupon. Apologies in advance for the dim lighting in the pictures….Above are the fried chicken meatballs ($8). They were light and came smothered in a light sweet sauce.
The shrimp tempura dinner ($21) which I had before. I love the sauce and the light crispy shrimp and veggies.
Some sushi-spicy tuna maki ($6.75), sweet potato tempura maki ($5.25) and the spicy yellowtail maki ($6.50).
And the piece de resistance was the Celtic roll or the Celtic Burrito Maki. I saw it advertised on Urban Daddy as ‘basically a tuna maki roll the size of a small burrito, deep fried tempura style.” It’s pretty darn excellent-because who doesn’t like deep fried sushi?
