A Little Bit About a Lot of Things

A lifestyle blog with a focus on my food adventures

My friend Kim makes some pretty darn good cakes. She doesn’t have a storefront-she bakes them out of her house. She is a talented artist and graphic designer-she does this as a side gig. I thought I would feature some of my favorite cakes that she has made for me over the years. Above is a cake for a for a University of Maryland graduate-Go Terps! The “terp” is made out of all chocolate and the cake is underneath.

While I know that Michigan’s colors are navy blue-that just doesn’t translate into frosting-so this blue was as good as it was going to get 🙂

This is a cake with the kickball logo on it.

Another logo cake, this time an ultimate frisbee cake.

A Harry Potter cake, and you can’t see it in the picture, but the nose was 3-D.

Here’s some hometown pride with a Red Sox cake.

This was a great cake, chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and white chocolate shavings on top. Yum…..

The 65 and the curls on top are made out of edible chocolate. The inside was chocolate with vanilla icing on the outside.

Not a cake, but golf themed cupcakes. I loved the grass.

You might be looking at this cake and saying to yourself….What the heck? Kim makes THE best chocolate covered pretzels I have EVER had….and I always ask her for them. So this was my ultimate cake…covered in chocolate covered pretzels….I have to admit that the pretzels were gone in about 3.2 seconds…which made for a funny looking cake afterwards 🙂

Leave a comment if you are interested in a cake and I can give you Kim’s contact information.
