November 22, 2010 Stone Hearth Pizza
I’m not a huge fan of thin crust pizza in general, but I do love Stone Hearth Pizza. Their pizzas have great flavor, they use the freshest ingredients, and they try to use local ingredients whenever they can.
The dine in service can, at times, be slow. So I ordered take out for lunch the other day. I got the “Homemade Sausage & Caramelized Onion – Made with our sauce, cheese, and charred red/yellow peppers.” ($7.95) I got a junior 8″ size, which is about the size of a salad plate. The sausage was good with just the right amount of spice and it was nicely balanced by the sweetness from the caramelized onions and the peppers. A really nice blend of flavors.
Other great things about this place: you can choose what kind of crust you want-regular or whole wheat, and they have tons of gluten free options! Other flavors I love here are the four cheese pizza with mozzarella, fontina, goat and parmesan and the prosciutto and pineapple. Not in the mood for pizza? Try one of their flat bread sandwiches, I’m partial to the stop, chop and roll (Mixed greens, tomatoes, bacon, chicken, basil, scallions, cucumber, blue cheese and balsamic dressing) or The Californian (Romaine salad, fresh avocado, Bell & Evans chicken, shaved red onion, and Dijon lemon dressing).
