A Little Bit About a Lot of Things

I was out on a walk, and had missed lunch, so I decided to stop in at the Olecito at BU-700 Commonwealth Ave. I had my eye on this place, but never had a chance to go in. Besides, how could I cheat on Anna’s? Before writing this review, I checked out Yelp and they didn’t give this place such good reviews.

The space is small, but clean, and there are few seats by the window if you want to ‘dine in’. There are also seats outside if the weather is nice, and additional seating is located in the Warren Towers lobby.

So I order a chicken burrito ($5.50) which is pretty standard fare. It’s pretty hefty-weighs a ton, and is loaded with rice. I ordered it with the Mexican rice as opposed to the cilantro rice. While it is a light red/orange color, which would imply spice, there is virtually no flavor.

The chicken was SUPER DRY-and flavorless. I have to admit that I had about 4 bites and threw the rest away. I walked over to Anna’s to get a real burrito. I’m sure that Olecito makes some good things, maybe I caught them on a bad day (no one was in there but me). I think I’ll go back and try another location and perhaps a torta and see how things go. As for this time, and this burrito, I left unimpressed.
