A Little Bit About a Lot of Things

A lifestyle blog with a focus on my food adventures

Zing Pizza is located in Porter Square in Cambridge, right near the T station at 1923 Massachusetts Avenue. I bought a buywithme.com coupon and tried it out. We bought a half ‘holy pepperoni’ (whole @ $16.50)and half ‘john dough’ (whole @ $14.50) pizza and a T Rex calzone.

The holy pepperoni is  ‘all natural vegetarian fed beef and pork raised humanely with no added hormones- gluten free and casin free.’ The John Dough is whole milk mozzarella with their own organic tomato sauce. The pizza is oblong-it is the size of two small pizzas side by side (there is only one size pizza available). The crust is thin and crispy and you can taste just how fresh the ingredients are.

The T Rex ($11) is tomato sauce, turkey sausage, chili flakes, shredded mozzarella, green bell peppers, yellow onions and pepperoni.

The calzone is HUGE! It’s about half a small pizza and piled high with spicy meats and gooey cheese. I like the calzone even better than the pizza!  There is definitely enough for two with the calzone, I barely eat a quarter of it. The dough is soft and chewy on the inside with a little bit of a crunch on the outside-I am a fan!

Zing has a small area to eat in, when we went to pick up our take out there were a lot of college aged kids  and young hipsters hanging around.  They offer a great selection of beverages-they have organic, fair trade or all natural beverages (Maine root sodas, Fizzy Lizzy fruit juice sodas, Honest Teas, and Blue Sky sodas).  They even have gluten free pizza crust. If you are ordering one, allow extra time when ordering.

Check out their website for a menu and specials they are offering-every Wednesday from 6pm-9pm is gluten free slice night!!
