A Little Bit About a Lot of Things

A lifestyle blog with a focus on my food adventures

This European bakery is located in Washington Square in Brookline. The shop side is filled with chocolate, gelato, pastry, cookies and cakes. The other side is a coffee bar and cafe seating. You order on the shop side and pick up your food at the coffee bar. There is no table service. The windows look out onto Beacon Street…great for people watching. When we go on the weekends for lunch it has a laid-back coffee house kind of vibe. Saturday night at 9, it’s hopping with young people- a little louder than the quiet weekends here that we are accustomed to.

They were out of a lot of things-but we were able to find some good things. Their menu changes often…so you never know what the expect. I had the caprese wrap-tomato, mozzarella, and basil in a flour tortilla.

My dining companions both had the breakfast panini-egg, bacon and cheese pressed in a panini.

Here’s the best part of the meal-the smoothie. You could seriously suck the whole thing down in one sip without even blinking-they are that good. The lemon (top) is super mouth puckering tart. The peach (below) was just peachy deliciousness.

We didn’t get the baklava this time, but they make the second best baklava that I’ve ever had. The best was home made by an old  family friend, who happens to be Greek-and how can you beat that? It is flaky phyllo dough made with honey and nuts-soooo gooey and delicious. I like the plain traditional kind the best.

They have a second location in Brighton, MA.
